2026 Beneficiaries
We are excited to announce the three area nonprofit organizations that will benefit from the 2026 10K Charity Classic presented by Royal Credit Union. Chippewa Valley Pickleball Club, L.E. Phillips Senior Center, and YMCA of the Chippewa Valley were selected by the Eau Claire Marathon and the Royal Credit Union Foundation to be the beneficiaries of the 10K Charity Classic race held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026. The RCU Foundation has pledged $15,000 to the organizations which are selected on a rotating annual basis.
Every 10K registration will include a free charity vote and additional votes can be purchased for $2 each on the race registration website. The charity with the most votes will receive $8,000, second place will receive $5,000, and third will receive $2,000. In addition, charities will be able to earn additional votes through organizing volunteers to work during marathon weekend.

The Eau Claire Marathon is proud to announce Royal Credit Union as title sponsor of the Eau Claire Marathon race weekend.
In addition, the Charity Classic 10K race previously featured at the RCU Foundation’s Rock the Riverfront event has transitioned to the Eau Claire Marathon weekend of events and will be called the Eau Claire Marathon Charity Classic 10K presented by Royal Credit Union. The RCU Foundation has pledged $15,000 to area non-profit organizations which will be selected on a rotating annual basis to benefit from the event.
By combining our 10K events, we’ll highlight RCU’s long standing commitment to charity, enabling us to give back more than ever before. This collaboration will also showcase the best of Eau Claire, benefiting both the city and our vibrant community.

Overall and age group awards will be presented by Market & Johnson. Awards are given to the overall winner (male, female, and non-binary) along with the top three finishers (male and female) in each age group.
There is not a formal awards ceremony, if you think you won an award, check in with the awards area.

Races changes and transfers will be available until April 1, 2025. Race changes (upgrades and downgrades) will be charged $10 plus the price difference for upgrades. Transfers will be charged $15 for same-distance transfers (marathon to marathon, half marathon to half marathon, or 5k to 5k.)

Strollers are allowed on the 10K. Runners of any age may participate in the Eau Claire 10K.
No unofficial pacers or bikers are allowed on course, anyone running must be a registered participant.
Headphones during the race are allowed in accordance to rule changes by the USTAF. Participants who choose to wear headphones are expected to be aware of the changing road/race conditions as well as fellow runners.
Handheld water bottles & hydration vests are allowed.
Any runner who is felt to be posing a safety concern to other runners or themselves may be removed from the race at the discretion of the Race Directors.
Pets and roller blades are prohibited on the course. Non-race participants will not be allowed in the runner's finish area.
