In Loving Memory of Cheri

Proceeds from this race will benefit Life's AMAZING! Pass it on! in honor of Cheri Uelmen. Cheri was in the front of the pack in local inline marathons, half marathons, and bike Races. She was known in the community as a beloved first grade teacher, fitness instructor, mother, grandmother, and friend. Tragedy struck the Eau Claire community when, in September 2014, Cheri Uelmen passed away due to a bike accident.

Cheri's last gift to the world was her selfless registration as an organ donor. Since Cheri was in such amazing shape, she had the opportunity to help many people with the gift of her healthy organs. The Eau Claire Marathon and it's supporters plan to work closely with the UW - Organ and Tissue Donation group to educate and build awareness for this special cause.

Cheri was an inspiration to many. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on through this exciting event and future charitable causes.
