Where’s Waldo? Oh… There He Goes. 🔎🏃‍♂️💨

After 26.2 miles, you’d think Waldo would be ready to take it easy.

But then he heard the cheers waiting for him down the final stretch… and Waldo took off.

One second, he was making his way toward the finish. The next, he was RUNNING—feeding off every cheer, every clap and every person reminding him that he was almost there.

It was one of those moments that perfectly captures what we love about the final hours of the Eau Claire Marathon.

The Final Hours Are Something Special

As the day goes on, the crowds begin to thin and the clock keeps ticking. But some of the most inspiring moments of Eau Claire Marathon Weekend are still happening out on the course.

These athletes cover the exact same 26.2 miles as the runners who cross the finish line first. The difference? Many of them have the incredible resilience to stay on their feet, keep moving forward and keep believing for nearly twice as long.

Hour after hour, mile after mile, they keep going.

That’s grit. That’s endurance. And that deserves one heck of a finish-line celebration.

And sometimes, when you’ve been out there for hours and you finally see that finish line ahead, hearing a few people screaming your name is all you need to find one more gear.

Waldo certainly did.

That’s Why We Stay

Those final cheers don’t happen by accident.

Our Back of the Pack Crew is there to make sure the energy and encouragement don’t disappear as the day goes on. They stay. They cheer. They celebrate. And they remind our athletes that what they are accomplishing matters.

Because whether your marathon takes three hours or seven, 26.2 is still 26.2.

Every runner deserves to hear those cheers.

Every runner deserves people waiting for them.

And every runner deserves their finish-line moment.
