ECM 2024 Masterclass dates: 

Session 1Pre-run fuel & post-run fuel  (Thursday, January 18th 6:30 PM)

What, when, and how much to eat before & after your run to get the most out of your training; recover faster; what to know if you're a runner over the age of 40.

Session 2: Fueling & hydrating during your run (Thursday, February 8th 8:00 PM)

How many carbs you need; determining your fluid & electrolyte needs; pros/cons of caffeine; how to train your stomach to prevent stomach problems, nausea, & headaches

Session 3Race day fueling strategy (Thursday, April 11th 8:00 PM)

How to properly carbohydrate load, what/when to eat race day morning; fueling logistics of race day (how to carry fluids/gels, etc.); destination race travel tips; logistics of fueling for specific races (i.e. NYC Marathon & late start time)

All classes via Zoom. Link will be sent to all registered runners the morning of the session.

Kristy Baumann is a Registered Dietitian, 12x marathon runner, and mom of a 2 and 5 year old. For years she thought she was fueling well as a runner, but still struggled to hit paces, would feel nauseous and have GI issues after long runs, and experienced muscle cramps on race day. She thought carbohydrate loading was eating a large pasta dinner the night before the race and staying hydrated was just about drinking water. 

After studying sports nutrition, she realized she was missing one of the most powerful tools as a runner - a proper fueling strategy. Over the past 4 years she has helped hundreds of runners transform their running through nutrition to avoid 'hitting the wall', overcome stomach problems, and beyond that, help runners not fear eating carbs.
