What an incredible event! Everything about this race was absolutely amazing!! Communication leading up to the expo and race day was on point. The expo was even bigger and more exciting than I had anticipated with great vendors and race day info. My sons had a blast in the kids run. And of course the race itself was just awesome! The race directors and volunteers ensured everything was not only well organized but were also super friendly and welcoming. The volunteers and spectators along the course were superb and that Bluegold Mile did not disappoint! I came up from Florida to run this race in honor of my father who was born and raised in Eau Claire but unfortunately passed several years ago, and this just so happened to be held on what would've been his 64th birthday! Thanks to all of the incredible people of this race and the town of Eau Claire, this was an experience I will forever cherish! My aunt and could ran this as their first ever 5k in my dad's honor, and we are already discussing how to make this a yearly event with even more family involved! - Christina

I have done both the full marathon and the half marathon at Eau Claire and it is very well organized, it is a great course and has the best spectators. Just for comparison I've run marathons (Boston, Chicago, Disney, Twin Cities, Boston...) and half-marathons (Key West, San Diego, Milwaukee, Madison,...) around the country and Eau Claire ranks up there with the "best of the best". Put this on your bucket list of marathons! Runners World Magazine needs to wake up and add this to their lists of top 10 marathons and top ten half-marathons in the country. - Dotty

I and my family have done several runs with the EC Marathon in the 6 years. I have to say, this is the best well planned out, organized run we have ever done. Nothing compares from the fun, excitement, food, spectators, and the list goes on. I have nothing to complain about this run. I always look forward to this run and push my hardest to hit my pr's. I keep saying that I want to do a half-marathon and will say if and when I do, it with be with the EC Marathon. They will give me the push I will need to finish strong!! - Debra

By far the most FUN race to run! I’ve been putting it off due to it being a more challenging course but I knew I wanted to do it JUST because I know how well run it is & how much the race crew cares about it’s runners! There is hardly a more beautiful course with all the bridges and water! Just when I started to lose some gas at about 11 miles the students at the Blue Gold mile fueled me back up! There are spectators, music, cheer squads EVERYWHERE. Thank you EC Marathon! - Rachel

Very well organized race, super helpful friendly volunteers. 2018 was my first ever EC race. I really appreciated how sincerely the announcers sounded as they encouraged those coming around the corner to the finish line. I’d definitely enjoy running the EC Half again sometime! - Jennifer

This will be my third year joining the thousands flocking to Eau Claire for the EC marathon experience. Although part of what makes this race so special to me is that I am a UWEC alum, what pulls me back each year is a combination of what makes this event stand out above the rest: epic swag, an incredible expo, community support and camaraderie, music and cheer squads along the entire route, the support and excitement of the community, THE BLUGOLD MILE. One cannot help but be reduced to tears when enveloped by the crowd of students! I am absolutely amazed by the organization of this weekend and I will continue making this race the highlight of my racing calendar each year. Well done, EC marathon. Amazing race and beautiful route. Very well organized and ran. The race was a little hilly and got warm but there was lots of aid stations and the crowd support was awesome. The blue gold mile was something totally amazing and awesome and worth the trip back again just for that. Very family fun event especially the expo and finish line party. The EC marathon organizers went the extra mile in so many ways like, coke at the finish line, jolly ranchers at the table before the race, kid activities at Carson Park, post race food including chocolate milk, lots of porta potties (no waiting in lines before race) and made me feel this race was for us the runners/walkers. volunteers were awesome and everyone was super nice. Such a supportive atmosphere all the way! Starting with the information continually being sent once registered; to the well organized package pickup; to the noticeably spaced signs for directions along the route; to the phenomenal volunteers EVERYWHERE; and to the Eau Claire community for coming out in droves with bells & signs & shouts of encouragement!
