Feet-ured Committee Member: Tina Theisen
If you’ve ever stood near the awards area on race day, chances are you’ve met Tina. She’s one of the friendly faces handing out awards to overall and age-group winners—cheering on runners she’s watched return year after year and welcoming those earning their first podium spot.
One of Tina’s favorite moments is seeing kids experience their very first race—often a 5K—and watching their faces light up when they realize they placed. She always makes a point to tell them she hopes to see them back again next year.
Tina also loves handing out legacy pins and hearing how long runners have been part of the Eau Claire Marathon. Listening to their stories and learning about their journeys is something she truly treasures.
Although Tina has completed one full marathon and spent many years running relays, when her body asked for a break she knew she still wanted to stay connected. Volunteering gave her that opportunity—and a deep appreciation for all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into ECM year-round. She’s loved watching the race grow and being part of a team that makes it happen.
💬 Tina says:
“Hearing the bell ring for a PR or seeing the satisfaction on someone’s face when they complete the race is exactly why I volunteer. Those moments are so exciting and inspiring.”
💙 Thank you, Tina, for being such an important part of the ECM family!
